Post-Symposium Field Trip

A Post-Symposium field trip will be available on December 7,  2006

Dear colleagues,
We know that you want to know about this field trip, but the planning process from Germany and US seems to be a more complicated
(due to lack of
responsiveness ) than we anticipated - please be a little patient.

Be assured that the UAE has some of the most spectacular and diverse off-road routes found anywhere in the Middle East. A great stretch of desert, mountains, a few wadis, waterfalls and a fair smattering of oases – we can provide all these ingredients for a thrilling field trip:
The following suggestions have been made however we will decide this in detail in November and still will make an effort to give you a really exiting tour.

  • Wadi B (goes over the Hajar Mountains)
  • The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve (DDCR) - the largest protected area in the UAE, covering 225 km2 and being managed as a national park by the Dubai Conservation Board.
  • Sharjah Wildlife Breeding Center

Details about this trip will be available from November 1, 2006
